MANUFACTURING

FR

FRENCH CRAFTSMANSHIP

The crafting of each product is entirely done in France, covering cutting, knitting for knitwear, assembly, finishing, and ironing.

No subcontracting is allowed by contract. I personally visit the workshops to supervise the process and get to know the people working on my products.

The denim is manufactured in Normandy.

The knitwear is crafted in Troyes.

The knitted fabric is entirely produced in Normandy.

The soft garments (blouses, dresses, and tops made of delicate woven fabrics) are crafted in Nantes.

The scarves are woven and embroidered in Lyon using French threads.

COTTON/ORGANIC/RECYCLED CANVAS

TR

ORGANIC & RECYCLED COTTON CANVAS

I opted for an untreated, raw canvas, combining durability, elegance, and comfort. It consists of a blend of cotton (50%), organic cotton (25%), and recycled cotton (25%). This mixture of new long fibers and shorter fibers from recycling ensures the fabric's longevity. The canvas comes from a Portuguese company with production sites in Portugal or Turkey. For this first drop of Daniel CRU, it comes from Turkey.

This sturdy canvas weighs 360 gr/m2. Its pronounced twill weave and the micro-residues of cotton husk give it an authentic texture, a sign that it has undergone no bleaching or dyeing treatment. These small dots will naturally fade with wear and with the jean's various washes.

I avoid the use of stretch, a polluting fiber that makes fabric recycling impossible once mixed. Despite this, the canvas remains comfortable to wear, provided that you follow the measurement chart and do not undersize the jeans.

This cotton canvas has a lower impact than traditional ones due to its proximity to production, lack of dyeing, and use of natural materials, some of which are recycled. It is recyclable and biodegradable.

Avoiding bleaching or dyeing materials is a radical approach to minimize water pollution impact as these treatments are heavy and aggressive on the environment.

LEATHER PATCH

IT

NATURAL LEATHER PATCH

On the back of the Daniel denim, a discreetly signed thick natural leather label marks the brand. This leather comes from an Italian tannery, dyed in Nude color, a pinkish beige exclusive to the brand. Made in Italy, the label is delicately embossed with the logo in relief, with its four sides lacquered for a subtle finish, avoiding leather chip-outs.

The leather used is a natural material derived from waste from the agri-food industry. Robust and delicate at the same time, this label is biodegradable.

The choice of Italy is explained by the unsuccessful search in France for label manufacturers with finished edges using local, non-exported leather.

BRASS & ORGANIC COTTON ZIPPER

CH

BRASS ZIPPER & ORGANIC COTTON ZIPPER

The Daniel denim features Riri zippers, chosen for their excellence and local production. As the undisputed leader in high-end zippers, Riri is the only company to offer closures of this quality, entirely produced in Switzerland, as France no longer manufactures zippers.

Its mesh is golden like a jewel, and its self-locking slider ensures that it stays in place.

The Daniel model, in its CRU color, extends the concept to the smallest details. Its refined zipper, with fine and sturdy size 3 metal teeth, is fixed on an undyed organic cotton tape.

COTTON BIAS

FR

COTTON BIAS TAPE

The inner seams of Daniel jeans' fly are lined with lovely cotton bias tape, manufactured in France. It's a detail that combines durability and refinement

BRASS BUTTON

IT

Jewel buttons

The buttons on the Daniel - CRU denim are made in Italy using brass and Zamak, two infinitely recyclable metals. Delicately adorned with the "Envol" logo, these buttons add an elegant touch to the jeans. Remember to turn the pants inside out before washing to preserve the buttons.

Why Italian buttons? Currently, there are no French manufacturers of jean buttons, and the Italians have a very refined craftsmanship.

COTTON VOILE LINING

IT

LININGS

Daniel's four double Tulip pockets are fully lined with certified organic cotton voile, manufactured in Italy. This provides a subtle finish and a delicate touch.
The voile lining is done without dyeing, a radical approach to minimize water pollution impact, avoiding heavy and aggressive treatments for the environment.

COTTON COMPOSITION LABEL

PT

Cotton composition label

The composition labels are made from undyed cotton ribbon, woven and printed in Portugal.

This quality is used on heavier products, such as denim or chunky knit vests. Items requiring a more fluid label have Tencel labels.

In France, I have not found a flexible cotton label or Tencel. For logistical reasons, I grouped the two qualities from the same Portuguese manufacturer.

SEWING THREAD

FR

FRENCH POLYESTER SEWING THREADS

The sewing threads of the Daniel RAW denim are made of polyester manufactured in France, ensuring optimal strength for maximum durability. Since jeans are items intended to be kept for a long time, the choice of thread plays an essential role in their longevity.

LITTLE STORY ABOUT DANIEL

"I dedicate the first garment of my brand to my father, Daniel, and more specifically to the memory of his meeting with my mother. Here are two photos of a moment I adore, just like the story of their encounter. After graduating, my father threw a dart at a map of Europe to let chance choose the destination for a trip celebrating the occasion. It landed in Poland, in Olsztyn, the city where my mother lived, in Masuria, the land of a thousand lakes...

This story is the beginning of mine, just as the jean is for my brand.

When I thought about the name I wanted to give to my jean, it was the heartfelt memory of these photos of my father and his seventies pants that gave meaning to my choice.

My first jean bears his name."
